Ian Pratt
Nightmare

People crowd the streets,
no room to walk
no air to breath.

What has happened?
Bricks fly.
Babies cry.
No one was supposed to die

Silence,
the commotion has stopped.
Your brain is still running
overboard.

"Think hard"
they say.
You cannot concentrate.
The light is blinding.
"Turn away"
you whisper to yourself.

Rewind.
It was all a nightmare.
Wipe your brow.
Everything is fine.
I will protect you.
