Jeremy Smyers
Untitled

When I finally reach
the borderland
you'll wonder what happened to me.
My body will be like a mannequin;
there, but no soul; no mind.
That is the day
that all bets are called in.
That is the day that I will
win.
Once and for all
there will be no more
fake world full of fake people;
people trying to get all they can
before they die.
They either dont realize or dont care
that they are caught.
The machine makes you work for it.
We are the host and the world is
the parasite.
Truth is the only thing that matters.
People won't see their truth, though.
They would rather win big while they're here,
and the truth always gets in their way.
When you see me finally heading for
the borderland
you'll know that I was granted my reprieve.
The gods will kill my body,
but they wont be able to take my truth and my love,
they can't.
It's the only thing that I made for myself.
It's the only thing that the gods didn't give me.
I didn't come into this world with either of them.
I know this because most people never find either one.
I have,
and for that reason it's mine to keep.
So, when I'm on my way over
don't worry,
or think about the material life that, in your opinion,
I wasted.
I saw the truth of this world
and I saw it when I was young.
When I still had the aggressiveness of youth
and could fight.
I fought it fair,
chin to chin
and I won
I out lasted people that I never thought I would.
I saw people's fake love turn to hate.
I saw people's fake truth turn to lies.
I had a fair share of my own,
don't get me wrong,
but I was always truthful to myself.
Here I sit with 713 to go
and my only regret is that
I wasted so many of them.
